Forza Motorsport 4 Soundtrack Release Announced
October 25th, 2013 | By Lance Hayes
That’s correct, your did just read that. I’m excited to announce that my Forza Motorsport 4 OST is going to be available for purchase on October 30th! It will be available everywhere you buy music online, such as iTunes, Amazon, Xbox Music etc for $9.99 US. And thanks to Amazon’s policy of posting previews early, you can listen to snippets of the ahead of release on the product page for the entire album.
It’s been a long time coming and I couldn’t be more pleased that next Wednesday you’ll be able to delve into the pure electronic soundtrack that I composed for FM4. It seems fitting that Forza 4 came out two years ago this month, and its worth noting is that this is one of the first releases on the new Microsoft Studios Music label (its catalog number MSM-0005). There’s more in the Turn 10 announcement on the Forzamotorsport.net news page for October 25th.
Of course, you will be able to stream the album from any of your favorite subscription sites such as Rhapsody, Spotify, Rdio, Deezer etc.
There has been a big push to get OST into your hands. Nick Wiswell, Paul Lipson and Mark Yeend have been invaluable allies on the road to release. Thanks to them, and to everyone behind the scenes at Turn 10 and Microsoft Studios that made this soundtrack a possibility.
So, what are you waiting for? Go out and pick up this long awaited album and then head over to my Facebook and or Twitter pages for additional updates and info about upcoming events.
Cheers!
Update: In related news I’ll be speaking at Synthfest this weekend (Oct. 26th) and doing some demos of my work on Reason. I’ll be showcasing and breaking down several tracks from the newly released FM4 OST as part of the demonstration. If you’re in the NW and have a love of synthesizer technology Synthfest is a great time so come on out!
Lance, I’m thrilled to see this soundtrack released! But do I understand correctly that there will be no CD release?
There are no plans, that I know of, for a CD release. That being said, these things change so keep an eye out for updates.
I’m curious – I know that I fall back on a certain libraries in Reason when I’m creating a piece. Do you have a favorite library or a few, that you find you use often? I find myself drawn to a lot of the work that the people over at http://nucleus-soundlab.com do.
Any favorite rack extensions? I’m starting to look at http://shop.propellerheads.se/product/synapse-antidote/ with some interest.
Hey Damon,
I’m a fan of Exode’s, Goldbaby and Tom Pritchard’s refills and, yes, Antidote is a fantastic Rack Extension. Right now I’m trying out Parsec, Tres and Korg’s Mono/Poly and liking things about Parsec and Tres but no decisions just yet.
Cheers!
I just read your twitter post about this now. I loved Forza 4’s music so much. I will purchase this right away!
